MindWave Medical was founded by clinicians and engineers who brought aviation-grade safety thinking to one of healthcare's biggest problems: alarm noise.
Alarm fatigue is one of the oldest, most stubborn problems in hospital care, so familiar that it can start to feel unsolvable. Our team didn't come at it as outsiders. We built MindWave around 100 years of combined bedside ICU experience, paired with a background in aviation technology, where intelligent alerting has been standard practice for decades.
We pioneered the CRAB (Contingent Routing with Audible Backup) concept, which brings discipline to hospital alarms. Built for the new IEEE 11073 SDC interoperability standard, it routes eligible alarms directly to the right caregiver in real time, using presence detection and equipment location awareness. The most critical alarms stay audible; the room stays quiet when it's safe.
